You can buy Schott, Swarovski, Hensolt, Steiner, and other glass that is in excess of $10K. That's getting up into custom Sauer und Sohn and Mauser rifle territory.
And that's just a high-end sniper/hunting scope. Add in FLIR laser ranging and other features and your up in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Well, with firearms, optics, knives, and tools you generally get what you pay for. I'd rather go ahead and hurt the pocketbook a little off the bat than spend a lot of money trying to save money...if you get what I mean.
Again, I would not scrimp on something I may have to trust my life to some day or on something that is supposed to give me pleasure shooting and increase my skill. I'd wait and save for the best I could get.
Never enough money to buy quality but always enough money to buy it again.
