Jacksonville, Fl is the reason I started carrying two spare magazines........

Y'all, this story is funny (in a dark sorta way), scary (anytime, anywhere), and downright unnerving (SO many mistakes by nearly everyone, yet still a positive outcome).

Florida Man steals a cash registrar from Wally World, tries to carjack three different people for a getaway car, and ends up getting two guns pulled on him for his trouble.....

My biggest 'lesson learned' from this is to KEEP YOUR SIDEARM ON YOU......

Had to get his gun out of his truck; had to get her gun out of the trunk...

Why bother bringing one at all?

Still don't understand why people leave their guns in their cars.

People are just not paying attention to what our society has become. I feel more like I am living in the wild west everyday. For you newbies to CC, take time to find a gun you will actually carry all the time. There are plenty of high quality, lightweight pistols out there that are easily and comfortably concealed in a manner that is easily accessible. Go to a gun shop and experiment with holding a few and with some CC holsters. Get the gun shop guy to help you.
I would start with something like an M&P Shield or a Ruger LCP or LCR. But, get something you will actually carry all the time.

Never had a problem concealing my EDC, I dress to carry OWB anything from a J frame revolver to a 1911 with a BUG in a wallet holster. I normally wear Docker pants and a untucked Tommy Bahama style shirt.

Didn't the FBI learn that lesson the hard way in FL back in '86?

The government is, by nature, typically slow to learn. If it learns quickly, it is accused of knee-jerk reactions. When it learns slowly, it is accused of ignoring history. People resist change, and they resist change in their government too.
