" Fifty or more years of dire predictions. Not one has come true. Banks still loan money for coastal construction and insurance companies still insure properties and businesses that are soon to be destroyed by man made climate change.

I just read this piece about Canada scrapping 100 yrs of observable data for modeled data so as to fit into the correct narrative.

Yes, followed by WWI, "roaring twenties" and FDR and an unprecedented growth of the federal government.

I didn't mean to make it look like the Federal Reserve Act and FDR's election were consecutive. More like the Fed reserve was quite the hack followed by FDR and his many hacks which were best explained by Aristotle as a "revolution within the form".
Today we have a form of the original intent of the founders and FDR was that trailblazer in my opinion. "

Arejay replied to the thread Epic Trump.
" California has been a thorn in Trumps
Since Trump's 2016 election, California state officials have filed dozens of lawsuits over the administration's actions on a host of issues from immigration and healthcare to the environment.
I think Trump, unlike most politicians and city leaders, can see the real underlying reasons for most of the homelessness. It's not
Homeless advocates have cited low housing vacancy as a main contributor to homelessness.
It's substance abuse, alcohol abuse and mental illness. Those are the real hurdles to address in the fight to get anywhere in the homelessness problem.

There's a video out easily found on the net. "Is Seattle Dying ?"The producers go downtown to look into this same issue every major city in America has. Drugs are the biggest.
Unless the underlying cause for homelessness is substance abuse or a health related problem there is plenty of government and charitable help to give a man, woman or family a hand up.

I hate this grinding poverty—
To toil, and pinch, and borrow,
And be for ever haunted by
The spectre of to-morrow.
It breaks the strong heart of a man,
It crushes out his spirit—
Do what he will, do what he can,
However high his merit!

I hate the praise that Want has got
From preacher and from poet,
The cant of those who know it not
To blind the men who know it.
The greatest curse since man had birth,
An everlasting terror:
The cause of half the crime on earth,
The cause of half the error.

Arejay replied to the thread Ted Cruz's comment on gun safety legislation.
" After thinking about it for a bit I'm wondering if Cruz is another Republican supporter of HR 838, the "TAPS" act.
This Republican-sponsored bill would establish a "Task Force" of 24 unelected, generally unsupervised individuals to oversee a national strategy of monitoring private citizens under the guise of preventing "targeted violence through behavioral threat assessment."

The act would also give the Department of Homeland Security the authority to issue grants to “eligible entities” in order to encourage those entities to hand information to “fusion centers,” which are defined as collaborative efforts of state, federal, and local governments “with the goal of maximizing the ability of such agencies to detect, prevent, investigate, apprehend, and respond to criminal or terrorist activity.”

The government could then use the data it collected to build behavioral models based on otherwise harmless behavior such as purchasing two handguns in one month. That model could then be used to target unwitting, innocent gun owners as potential “threats.”

Moreover, HR 838 would authorize the government to spend $25 million a year through 2024... effectively wasting over $100 million of the taxpayers' money to spy on the American people.

The TAPS Act is potentially disastrous for those intent on exercising their right to keep and bear arms, and assuredly catastrophic for the privacy rights reserved to the People under the Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments.

We have a habit of setting our selves up when it comes to their agenda. Heck look at the education we gave them. Once upon a time they couldn't differentiate between a thumb hole stock and a pistol grip. I think they don't even call magazines clips anymore.
All they had to do was surf the forums and letters to the editors to find out they didn't know what they were talking about. It would of been very useful to keep them there. Now we see 10/22's making the cut in "assault weapon" legislation across the republic.

" Well it hasn't been a year but here's my ten month review.

I used this ankle holster quite a bit. Just about every day while on land. I used it at work and around town.
The problem I have now is it slides down when walking. Just a block or two and it's flopping down around my ankles. No good
This was a surprise to me and I have to think it stretched out somehow. Cleaning it did not seem to help. It has these little rubbery bumps on the inside that are supposed to provide extra grip and I thought cleaning would help

Bugbite was very comfortable and useful there for awhile. I might reach out to bugbite and see what they think. Maybe it was notintended to use on such a daily basis.
I miss it because it had a definite useful place in my routine. "

Arejay replied to the thread I don't care who you are, this is funny stuff..
" Here's another one. Two ranchers decline to grant Oregon Fish and Wildlife access to their property to do a frog survey. This is how they said no...

Dear Mr. Niemela:

Thank you for your inquiry regarding accessing our property to survey for the yellow-legged frog. We may be able to help you out with this matter.

We have divided our 2.26 acres into 75 equal survey units with a draw tag for each unit. Application fees are only $8.00 per unit after you purchase the “Frog Survey License” ($120.00 resident / $180.00 Non-Resident). You will also need to obtain a “Frog Habitat” parking permit ($10.00 per vehicle). You will also need an “Invasive Species” stamp ($15.00 for the first vehicle and $5.00 for each add’l vehicle) You will also want to register at the Check Station to have your vehicle inspected for non-native plant life prior to entering our property. There is also a Day Use fee, $5.00 per vehicle.

If you are successful in the Draw you will be notified two weeks in advance so you can make necessary plans and purchase your “Creek Habitat” stamp. ($18.00 Resident / $140.00 Non-Resident). Survey units open between 8am and 3pm but you cannot commence survey until 9am and must cease all survey activity by 1pm.

Survey Gear can only include a net with a 2″ diameter made of 100% organic cotton netting with no longer than an 18″ handle, non-weighted and no deeper than 6′ from net frame to bottom of net. Handles can only be made of BPA-free plastics or wooden handles. After 1pm you can use a net with a 3″ diameter if you purchase the “Frog Net Endorsement” ($75.00 Resident / $250 Non-Resident). Any frogs captured that are released will need to be released with an approved release device back into the environment unharmed.

As of June 1, we are offering draw tags for our “Premium Survey” units and application is again only $8.00 per application. However, all fees can be waived if you can verify Native Indian Tribal rights and status.

You will also need to provide evidence of successful completion of “Frog Surveys and You” comprehensive course on frog identification, safe handling practices, and self-defense strategies for frog attacks. This course is offered online through an accredited program for a nominal fee of $750.00.

Please let us know if we can be of assistance to you. Otherwise, we decline your access to our property but appreciate your inquiry.

Sincerely,
Larry & Amanda Anderson

John W in SC
If that ain't already a country western song you'd best be jumping on it.

I wrote a country song once. "I dropped my phone in a cup of coffee". "I can't call nobody, nobody can call me". Didn't go anywhere. Was told I needed to find someone with the right kind of twang to sing it. I don't think that twang exists any more.
Sigh, heavy sigh, I coulda been a contender.

Arejay replied to the thread Democrat Debate.
" I knew there was to be a debate. I didn't know what time to look for it. I didn't bother with looking for the time. So I missed it. Again.

There isn't a candidate with a coherent thought I can follow. I just catch up the next day. Yuk yuk. For instance....There's the OP topic and then there's Biden trying to debate and keep his teeth in his mouth at the same time. Biden says nobody should be in jail for non violent crimes. Hmmm.

They say JFK won against Nixon in no small part do to his appearance and manner during the first televised presidential debates. Folks there isn't no being careful about a slippery slope. We're sliding down it at break neck speed.

" But you won't see the biggest Canadian posters coming south to post much here. Something I've never understood is why they left. I miss what they post about and find myself heading north on occasion.

After these few years I still can't claim to understand any of it. Left to come here. Left here to go back. As for me it seems like I caught up with everybody just in time to see them go back. "

Arejay created the thread Candidates for a Red Flag.
" I nominate Chris Cuomo after his unhinged foul mouthed tirade and threats of violence towards a stranger. Clearly Cuomo is unhinged and doesn't have the self control and mental stability to own a gun. Next.......

Edit to add : Plus I don't like him. Which is a good enough reason in itself. Am I right comrades ? "

Arejay created the thread Riddle me this. A strange coincidence.
" Two days ago I went to the local marine hardware store to buy some things for a project I needed finished. On the way in I stopped to check out a display of new "portable inverter generators" . I flipped thru the literature hanging next to it.

My crew showed up with the fittings I needed but were stopped also by the display. It had the same effect on them and me as candy does to kids at a checkout line in a grocery store. So I go out to them to get the fittings and I'm sure we had a short conversation about the generators but I don't remember it. Inconsequential anyways.
Here's the riddle. The next morning I make covfefe and surf the news online, log into PDF to see what you guys are up to and I also logged into Facebook.

Right there on Facebook are ads for these new inverter generators. Not regular generators but these inverter ones.

I never went on line to research them nor did I have another conversation about them after that trip to the hardware store. What I did have and the only explanation I or anyone else can come up with is the fact I had my "smart" phone in my front top pocket.

Very strange coincidence that can't be explained unless my phone is listening.
What do you think ? Am I nuts or is this actually possible ? I could understand the ads if I had gone online or requested more info. I did not and the next day Facebook knows I showed an interest in this product. Creepy and an eye opener. "

Arejay created the thread Poison Fruit.
" From the desk of Oregon Senator Dennis Linthicum. His eyes are open. A good read for those who seek common sense.
Unfortunately, the bill, as it stands, focuses on creating more arbitrary, capricious and unnecessary crimes that can’t be universally enforced because of the sheer scope of probable violations.

Arejay created the thread NRA Dirty Laundry ? Ruh Roh.
" The timing of this article is a coincidence but lately I've been feeling annoyed with the NRA. Constantly and incessantly asking me for more money. I mean I know there are battles going on concerning the 2A, living in Oregon and working in Washington how could one not notice.
But lately they've seem to me the twin brother of the AARP or they remind me of publisher Clearing House.
I was wondering if they lost their way.
I come across this article alleging some very serious corruption and shenanigans. I take news with a grain of salt but there seems to be a LOT of money going going where it does no good.

Spies did a thorough job of digging up sources [he clearly has a someone leaking him info at NRA or maybe Ackerman] and documentation to back up the critical points in his article, and he presents them with little spin or distortion. Calling on NRA members to ignore the message and focus on the messenger, won’t work this time. The article and its sources are too well documented and credible for that, and enemies of the NRA will undoubtedly pursue these leads with bulldog tenacity.

NASA scientists estimate that the meteor was 32 feet (10 meters) in diameter and weighed 1,500 tons (1,360 metric tons). It blasted through the atmosphere at 71,582 mph (115,200 km/h) and exploded 15.5 miles (25 kilometers) above the surface of the ocean. It exploded with the power of 173 kilotons of TNT, 10 times the energy of the atomic bomb dropped by the United States over Hiroshima in 1945.

Arejay created the thread Beto.
" Here's a story worth bookmaking to share should "Beto" come up in a discussion about his worthiness in holding public office. Seems to have an odd poetic side. Find the link with the youtube video reciting one of his works. Not bad subject matter for adults but to odd and out there for family friendly. He is not presidential material, I don't care if his smile resembles Bobby Kennedy's. Just saying, might come in handy....https://www.americanthinker.com/blog...democrats.html "

Arejay created the thread Sanctuary Counties in Colorado.
" Go Colorado go.
It’s a battle that’s playing out across the nation: states that are pushing gun control legislation directly against the will of the citizens are witnessing entire counties push back en masse. In New Mexico 29 out of 33 counties have declared themselves “Second Amendment Sanctuaries”. In Oregon, ten counties ran “Second Amendment Preservation Ordinances” on the ballot last election, and it passed in eight of them. In Washington, 20 counties have said they will not enforce the overreaching laws forced upon law abiding citizens when I-1639 passed last November. And we’re seeing it pop up other places as well, including Nevada and Illinois.
