" Amazing what can be done when it is done by private enterprise, isn't it?

Where I live there is a 6 mile long piece of road that is being changed from 2 lane to 4 to 6 lane and the project is taking more than THREE YEARS. It's been a gosh awful mess all along, with small sections "here and there" being worked on and no continuity to be seen - but I've been told that the method is standard for road construction. IMHO we don't need a super highway leading to a retirement/resort community of less than 8,000 people.

Off topic? Sort of. Except as a referral to private projects vs. government contracted projects. "

They do. And often lump them based on global aspects.

I once administered such a solution. The VP of the company wanted to "get rid of the dirty pictures." No way we could filter every site ourselves, but I found a package that could do it.

The people who filtered sites (added them to a database) had only a few seconds to decide on a category for a site. So if guns? then guns.

Well, I deployed the software. One of the complaints came from a lady trying to book a graduation trip for her son to a tropical resort but the site was blocked by the software... I looked using my "special key" and sure enough, a bunch of teens having fun on a beach wearing minimal clothing. They were having ordinary clean fun, not the kind of fun the VP was worried about. But somewhere in the world, someone had only a few seconds to decide what category the site belonged in. And tagged it for the database.

But while there were a number of false positives when it went live, it did pretty much get rid of the dirty pictures. Instantly.

It also blocked VPNs and known proxy servers. "

" I wonder how many Muslims will be elected to office this time around. I question if it is smart to let a political system such as Islam, which relies on and worships a document (Quran), which is antithetical to the law of our land , the COTUS. How can it be in our Nation's interest to let a political system masquerading as a religion to assume control of our Government when its governing document demand's are diametrically opposite to what the COTUS says?

When the people elect such candidates, the people have to assume responsibility. Be sure and check out the tweets for the Muslim running for office in Michigan included in the article and ask yourself why these Islamists almost always run as Democrats.

https://gunsinthenews.com/as-we-appr...ing-this-time/

"AS WE APPROACH 2020 ELECTIONS, REMEMBER THE ANTI-SECOND AMENDMENT STANCE OF MUSLIMS WHO RAN FOR OFFICE IN 2018 & BEWARE THOSE RUNNING THIS TIME"
"As I have pointed out time and again, Muslims in America are not interested in assimilation nor are they interested in American values, which are biblical values. They are directed by the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad. As a result, since 9/11, we have been so inundated with propaganda that we are not actually accepting Muslims to be in office in the united States of America, something that would have been unheard of in our early founding. As a result, its important to understand their attack on the Constitution and specifically, our Second Amendment."

And the latest example of why no one should even consider an antichrist Muslim for office comes from Pennsylvania.

FIRST ELECTED MUSLIMA PENNSYLVANIA REPRESENTATIVE CHARGED WITH STEALING OVER $500,000 FROM CHARITY PLANS TO PLEAD GUILTY

However, one thing that all of them have in common is an attack on the right to keep and bear arms and a citizen militia that is protected in the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.

ETA: Sorry for the misspelling of the word Muslim in the title, it was unintentional. "

I disagree about national reciprocity. We have national reciprocity for drivers licenses, marriages and lots of other stuff. We have LEOSA. A locality could try to say they don't want to play, but how could they convict someone for carrying under national reciprocity if there is a federal law that mandates it? They could get the defendant to court. They might even get a local conviction, once. But the first federal appeal and the locals would lose.
Yep. Let NR pass. Take your tx permit and go to Illinois jersy NY . You'll be busted if caught. You will stay in jail until bail is set. If it's set. Then I assume you have 50,000 or so bucks to battle your way thru the state courts to finally arrive at a federal one. And depending on the judge you may lose there too.

The states worked out DLs, MLs, and even MLs aren't recognized the same from state to state
The Fed had zip to do with any of that.

LEOSA isnt even honored in several states . Even for active duty out of state cops.

NR is a carrot Republicans and the NRA use to attach Bill's like fix nicz too. That can't get out of committe or the house on their own. Then separate the Bill's and pass the anti gun one.
That's it and that's all. Smoke and mirrors, already used once and some gun owners still didnt catch on "

" One conclusion I am coming to fighting this gun rights fight in VA: The real problem is not the Democrats. Sure they are dispicable, but they have always out there, pushing as far as they can to the left. That's their mission in life, such as it is. The real problem is RINOs. They are supposed to be the check and balance on the push to the left. What has crippled us in VA is the Republican Party basically throwing the fight, not supporting its candidates and not even running candidates in a LOT of races. They used to stand strong against the Dems, but no longer. Two things are taking down traditional values here: Weak Republicans and outside money and influence. "

I personally believe there is really no one in the US Gubermint that is ethical, moral, and really cares about us. (Yes, this includes BST, all of the House and all of the Senate).

My disdain for politics and politicians (BST, the House and Senate included) has had reached a breaking point months ago.
Take Trump out of the equation because this impeachment is not about an individual. This impeachment is about one political party going after the opposition party using kangaroo charges that are not real crimes but political activities. Our nation and our rights will never be the same should this impeachment succeed. So while the sun may rise tomorrow the world it shines on will not be a bright one.

BTW, comparing Clinton’s impeachment to Trumps are magnitudes of different. Clinton lied, big deal. Trump has not lied. He has committed no crime. "

My point has nothing to do with Trump or impeachment.

When a congressman who heads the house Judiciary Committee says "We cannot rely on an election to solve our problems, when the president threatens the very integrity of that election."

It certainly gives me pause that such a statement is even allowed w/o congressional censure!
Also makes me wonder, when a Dem does assume the office, and they will at some time, the repubs can now play the same game.
Essentially such thought paves the way to a complete erosion of government and; opens the door to complete tyranny.
I agree though I may not be as confident as you are. There are still a number of Rino never-Trump Senators who hold tightly to the swamp. I don't think they could ever get to 67 but if the Democrats do as promised and continue with one impeachment hearing after another they will have effectively nullified the electoral victory of 2016. I will make a bet that if Trump wins in 2020 and Ginsberg passes away the Democrats (if they still have the House) will tie up the Senate with impeachment until 2024 to make sure that Trump does not get to appoint another SCOTUS Justice.

This type of obstruction may not push us to civil war but they will have effectively neutered Trump. The other problem is that the Republican voters will keep electing these weak knees who will not play the game like the Democrats, and I have no faith that these namby-pamby Republican voters will ever wake up. They think the answer is to vote third party or not vote at all and by protesting this way they will cure the problem, when in actuality all they will do is give the election to the Democrats which is why we are in the shape we are in now. Anyone who still believes they can accomplish originalist Conservative goals by voting for anyone other than a Republican (in our current state) is refusing to accept the reality of the current political landscape that is represented by the Republican/Democrat divide in how the parties (the only two parties that can win) would govern if in power.

This would not solve our problems because Republicans have many swamp creatures themselves. The people have to vote in numbers that convinces these people that we will only accept a government that relies on the COTUS as written. I have no faith that it will ever happen and as evidence I ask the question, if JFK was reincarnated with exactly the same views he had when he was elected what party would he represent? He would be a middle of the road Republican, or what we term a swamp creature today, but he would not be a Democrat.

All of this, to me, points to civil strife/war at some point and it will probably come if the liberals manage to change the COTUS without using the COTUS to change the COTUS. They are saying now they will do that and perhaps Ghost is right, maybe that will be the step-to-far and and the line that is crossed that will let originalists actually become as violent as the left and give patriots the stomach to kill Americans who have lost their way. I don't know, but I do know it would be hard for me to take that step and I hope it doesn't happen while I am alive. It is a choice I don't want to be faced with. "

They are brighter, they emit more light and use a lot less energy, so your batteries last a long time.

" I will believe that there is a real possibility of removing the 12 foot alligators from the swamp when I see it happen. Until then, I fear it will be a few underlings tossed under the bus and not much else.

THAT MUCH power and that much money behind the major criminals is all but impossible to combat. Remember, we're talking about billionaires - more than one of them. Dozens more can be suicided with no more repercussions than the dozens in the past.

I hope I am wrong. But I just do not see anything really significant happening. And if The Donald gets elected again, the dems have already announced loud and clear that they will not ever quit trying to get rid of him. So that would take up all the "legislative" time for four MORE years.

We had a republican majority in both houses and a republican president for 2 years. Nothing happened then either except that there weren't enough dems in office to run the never ending circus they are doing and promising to continue doing. They didn't even negate Obama care and that was one of the foremost reasons they were sent to Washington by the voters.

OK -- /rant off I don't need to let myself get upset about things about which I can do nothing. "
