The closest thing I have to a pocket pistol is a Beretta 94F Cheetah and a Smith Model 60. I do have a Browning 1911 .22, but I'd like a bit more punch than that. Anyway, I want a major reputable brand. No trigger safeties. Do you guys have any suggestions?
Depends on the caliber you want. The Boberg/Bond Arms Bullpup in 9mm fit well in a pocket and is a fantastic gun. In .380, I would suggest the Seecamp if you are not looking for a range gun. "

Really big question, no matter who is on the fence perimeter that day. I expect that it will be hardened somewhat in the weeks prior to the idiot gathering. And that there will be some sort of plans made.

I keep seeing that no one would kill hundreds of thousands of people if they rushed the fence. Put some progressives on the other side and have those who rush wear MAGA hats. You'll see gun barrels melt.

Hundreds of thousands? You mean that after seeing one, two or even a few shot (hypothetically), that more would continue to rush the perimeter? I just don't think these idiots would have that sort of gumption to rush forward into live fire. I would expect that what would kill the most would be a flash bang near the front of the crowd. Deaths would occur from the press to run away. They'd trample those in back who don't move fast enough. "

This is a clone of the Beretta Model 1951, made by Maadi, and has been dubbed the "Brigadier", Model 951:

Attachment 12440

The Helwan was another of my pawn shop finds several years ago, and IIRC it set me back about $135. It's my understanding that these pistols were made in an Egyptian factory that was actually built by Beretta. I find it to be an interesting pistol, as the design is the "Grandaddy" of the Beretta M92. It seems to be a very well-made pistol, with a tight action and well-machined parts. I have noticed that the pistol is a little finicky with ammo, working fine with some brands and bullet styles, and not so well with others. The gun has what appears to be a very steep feed ramp, and I suspect this is the main cause of the ammo issues.

While the original production of the Helwan was for the Egyptian military, there were some later-production M951's produced for the civilian export market, and rumor has it that there were some heat-treatment problems with some of the civilian guns that resulted in slide failures (cracking and/or deformation). I believe that my pistol is one of the civilian examples, so I'm hoping I don't run into any problems!

So, anyone else have an ol' Helwan Brigadier? Any helpful hints or suggestions?
Hey there, should you ever run into locking blocks problems, or if you simply want to prevent them.. I have new manufactured locking blocks with radius cut.. "

" People have lost their minds, and if indeed there are "extraterrestrial" bodies or even living ones at Area 51, most likely they've been kept secret for a number of reasons. I think the Government loves the mystique about the place, look how much interest it has generated over the years and keeps the public guessing about military affairs. It may be a sideshow to deflect from what is really going on, I don't know but the whole thing is simply old and boring. The tourism aspect of it has been good for the local area and if the folk are allowed to storm the facility and see the "evidence" first hand, the people running the tourist industry won't be happy.

If it were possible for some other worldly creatures to travel across the vastness of space and time, that would be a feat in itself, they would have to be amazingly technologically advanced and have an incredibly long life span. We've barely left our home planet and on July 20th of this year celebrate the 50th anniversary of landing on our Moon, well maybe according to the naysayers that it was staged. An alien coming to Earth would have to be so advanced we may not even know how to deal with such technology with our primitive minds.

I really think that alien life packed up one day, trekked out on a vacation voyage to Earth and as they landed and got out, they looked around at our mess and said "Well, we came all that way for THIS???" They probably took off, stopping at the Mars Rest Area first.

At the end of the day, these people who wish to "storm Area 51" are just wanting attention. "

I do not primarily buy anything just because it is officially endorsed by an athlete or used by an athlete. Quality pieces of athletic gear for the average athlete can be bought from many vendors and they do not have to be top of the line. I was a pretty good baseball player growing up. I doubt my performance would have been enhanced by using a glove used by the best outfielder in MLB at the time.

I do look to see what the elite runners wear as a reference point in my buying decisions. I have not purchase Nike in the past because the shoes did not fit me well. The newer model of the Peagasus has a larger toe box and less padding around the heel. They improved the lacing system.

The ironic thing is, the changes Saucony made to my favorite shoe I have been using for 4 years now made me leave for Nike. Yet, the changes that Nike made to the Pegasus has made some people upset and they might be opting for other choices now. It purely comes down to comfort.

My cold weather/rain jacket I use is by Brooks. I got that one for two reasons: market research and the fact that Des Linden wore it while running the Boston Marathon 2 years ago when the weather was ridiculously cold, windy, and raining. It was a toss-up between three jackets. So, I figured if it worked well enough in those bad conditions it was fine for me

Back to Nike: they are not going away. They know "their" market and also know perfectly well what their business decisions mean short and long term. Nike stock is up 10 bucks from a year ago. They are only a dollar off their high for the year. Stock prices are not always a true indicator of how well a business is doing. The only reason I check Nike stock periodically is that when this flap started months ago, many folks have said that Nike doomed itself and the stock would go down.

Evidently, since almost no one here likes Nike products, now or in the past, then PDF members are not a demographic that Nike is worried about. My MIL said she is boycotting Nike. I do not think that boycotting a product you have never used really has an affect "

You don't run the military on the whims of the people, there are enough mistakes when it is run on the whims of the government.

Anyone who is up on current affairs that expects the American people (as currently constituted) to be able to keep a secret or care about America is not being realistic. The government should follow the COTUS and there is nothing there that demands total clarity for every action of government. That would be dangerous and unnecessary for the Country.

A large portion of the population only cares about things that have nothing to do with how they are governed. This is one of them.

I believe that "if" the government had proof of alien visitors they would try to keep it secret for many reasons. Mass panic for one, the effort by foreign governments to seek new technology for nefarious purposes for another. Another would be the potential for religions across the world to collapse and cause riots around the world. I would also add that any alien lifeforms that have conquered interstellar travel would pose an instantaneous threat to the survival of our world if they were given reason to do so, and perhaps they demanded that secrecy.

Personally I trust our government more than I trust the slightly over 50% who usually vote for Democrats and my worst nightmare is that when the aliens make themselves known they will identify AOC as their emissary they have planted among us.

Certainly killing these crazed lunatics would be a tragedy for the country and probably start a civil war but a few hundred thousand crossing the open desert to a well defended position against our military backed by massive air power, I see no problem. Even if successful I see the other half of the country rising to the defense of the military.

Nothing would surprise me anymore so I just continue to hope I will continue to live in some form of reality, but the hope is--------fleeting.
If you trust the gov, after being daily shown you can't for many decades , on almost a weekly basis , reality isn't where your living.

You really are,of the opinion the Fed gov would survive,a week after killing 300,000, American citizens,?. Assuming the military at 51 could be convinced to do that, which is a far fetched dream btw.

Think back to Kent state. Waco. Bundy ranch, and the national reaction to each. And those, are, small spuds,to killing 300,000 Americans in one fell swoop even if our military was capable of doing that or would domestically.

Nope . It's a internet stunt as plainly stated .
If you value this gov in anyway at all pray that a 1000 don't take this seriously and get killed trying it.
Because that will be the end of the Fed , and this nation as we know it. "

Not true I went to the Darkside last week and got myself a pair of Pegasus Turbo 2's and they are the sweetest shoe I have had in a while. Sorry, but I have to go with what works for me when I do 14-16 mile runs total up to 70 miles a week.

Here is the reason why I switched to Nike (at least for now). And they were not my first choice at all

1: I always loved New Balance. My go to shoes since I ran X-country in college. But ya know what they did, they messed with my favorite series of shoes or they discontinued my favorite pair of shoes over the years. So, I switched to.....
2:......Brooks. See "1" above. So I switched to...........
3........Saucony Kinvara series of shoes. And they worked well, even when they went from Kinvara 6, 7, 8, and 9. But ya know what....this year, the Kinvara 10's made a drastic change which I do not like. So I switched to.....
4.....Nike. The Pegasus Turbo 2's are just perfect for me right now.

Nike does give 10 percent off for Military personnel, veterans, and their families. Ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

And many adults do wear Nike. Not for fashion but for function (They have one of the best long distance road racing shoes right now. My trail shoes are still Hoka One One

Having fired one numerous times, as a .45ACP regular, I never felt the recoil was any big deal. The Detonics does have more recoil than a Boberg/Bond Arms Bullpup but less than most comparable sized .45ACP pistols, and far less than some of the smaller .357 magnum revolvers that are becoming more popular.

The disassembly and reassembly is far more complicated than most new plastic guns but easier than than a Ruger Mark I-III or a Luger, or many other older semi auto pistols. Mostly it requires a bit of muscle. To me, the major drawback is weight as a concealed carry piece and recently, the size itself which is ironic as this was the smallest and lightest 9mm of its time. " The people should know how they are being governed but in many cases they don't need to know how the Government is doing it. For instance should we have told the people what was going to happen on 6/6/44 or 7/25/45?

Acess is one thing. Knowing what our gov is up too is another. We should absolutely know what the gov is doing . Besides removing our rights, claiming land it's prohibited to have and confiscating our money and property if the whim strikes it, which we all already know.
The government was created by the people and can't be held accountable by the people if it's allowed to hide its activities.

Besides the originator of this idea has posted repeatedly it's not serious and simply an internet stunt.

But. As,far as gunning down 300,000 even unarmed determined people, area 51 would be overrun in minutes. As would any other military base in the country. They are simply not ready to repel that number of attackers on domestic soil.

Assuming the gov could get the military guarding the place to murder 300000 of their fellow Americans all at once to protect a weird military base.
And the gov that permitted the gunning down of 300,000 American citizens for any reason would frankly have seen it's last day in power. "

I read somewhere that in AOC's district, the voter turn out was very low because everyone thought the incumbent, who had been there for quite awhile, was a shoe-in. I probably don't have these numbers exactly right but out of 177k people registered to vote, only 16k did...and voila! AOC.

I think the voter turn out in 2020 is going to be record breaking, thanks to people seeing what the Democrats are up to. "

West Texas is probably one of the most Conservative areas of Texas. The problem is we are in the same State as Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas, with a lot less population. We are nowhere near a supermajority in our State government and in fact face the real possibility of the State being flipped. If we could get enough of you Conservatives to move here perhaps we could preserve the Union and the COTUS. Just a thought. "

" Actually I think the real power behind AOC is choosing to remain in the shadows-----for now. The Young Turks and George Soros as well as Democrat "kingmaker" Katzenburg are the real drivers here and little else explains how a shallow-minded bartender became a member of Congress. I believe Cenk and his Young Turks are little more than a front for Islam and if you look into Cenk's history you can see that from his past comments in his typically sexist comments about women. Soros is just the provider of the stew, and Jeffrey Katzenberg the fire, while Cenk is the spoon that stirs the pot. AOC is just a mindless tool.

You can read some of the history of the Young Turks here, and it's beginning sounds, to some degree as in the controlling of the Parliament, like what is happening here with AOC and her shadow sponsors.

https://www.armenian-genocide.org/young_turks.html

Here is a video that debunks (to some degree) the Young Turks and exposes Cenk's as the denier of the Armenian genocide perpetrated by the original Young Turks and their Islamic overlords.

But it went wrong with this load, for sure. These loads are right up to the neck, so low/missing powder should have been blatantly obvious--should have been!
That seems to be the best explanation, especially since 5 rounds in a row went awry. This explanation would fit into the scenario of how I reload because I would transfer them in order into the final box. Well, like I said, it is a good learning experience and a good example of how reloading, while relaxing, demands concentration at all times. " "The Squad" as they are known with Occasional Cortex being the quasi-leader of the pack are great entertainment, but like a rattlesnake, they look silly and harmless but do have a fatal bite. They are simply dangerous because they have a message that a lot of folk want to hear. They love the "free stuff" message. They love the "hate Trump" message. They love the hate America message. They love the message of dragging capitalism down to the floor level because the ones who feel like perpetual victims now have advocates to raise them up to a level of power. That is what is scary, these people in charge of a country who's system has worked for over 200 years. Just because they appear to be silly and mouthpieces, they still are dangerous.

I don't think they will unseat Trump. They don't have the backing of the majority of Americans, including moderate Democrats (yes, it's no myth, they do exist.) They are giving it a real good go of it though. I have never witnessed a time in the U.S. like I am seeing now with politics, the two opposing sides vying to kill each other in elections because they want power and could care less about the people they rule. " Welcome Amy!

Agree it depends on the state one is in.

I OCed yesterday, multiple destinations including a lawyers office, veterinarian's office, and a liquor store. 90 degrees here and very humid. Only "look" I got was at a gas station, and that was as I turned to leave; looked like the cashier was simply curious but was hesitant to ask me anything.

Tennessee is a carry state, no legal distinction between open and concealed... That said, I do avoid OC in tourist areas.

A few weeks ago, went out for a drive with my lady. Ended up crossing state lines into a concealed-only state. Argh, my t-shirt did not want to stay over my weapon, kept riding up and printing terribly. We did not stay long, and headed back over the mountain towards home pretty quickly.

Again, nobody seemed to notice or care but I was not comfortable, should have brought my vest.

Posting this as it just occurred to me that I was more concerned about police attention across state lines on the drive than any crime issues in my home state yesterday. "

" No one should find AOC or her (3) friends frightening; that is akin to saying I fear the rat

AOC never RAN for office, she was RUN.
Doesn't require a advanced degree in anything to realize she operates at the level of a 7th grader; merely
a puppet doing the bidding of others.

To the question of
Can AOC be a Good Thing For Promoting the Trump Administration?
Yes; because she alienates not only mainstream middle America; she and her type alienate themselves from the democratic party as it exists in it's current form. Essentially, she and the other hard left radicals are surrounded; circular firing squad.

AOC and her type are merely a distraction perpetrated by the same powers that helped Obama get elected; such should be evident
when we see how high levels of the federal government were weaponized in the attempt to keep Trump from winning the election...

AOC and her 3 lady friends do not wield such power; locate the rats nest and we will have the answer. "

This transfer panel will need to be hard wired into your existing breaker panel and the gen.will need to be connected to the new panel. There may be better options out there for you. All wiring should be done by qualified electricians. SG and I both have Generac systems and they are first quality. They cost quite a bit more but have greater capacity. Look for a local vendor and talk to them. "

Come to find out that was a not un-common problem with that powder. It did it again with another round out of the same batch except it was a delayed ignition. pop-bang. I have never had it happen on a rifle round so perhaps the small rifle primers don't create enough pressure to eject the bullet if they are crimped, or even un-crimped I guess. If the bullet did not eject from the case I would guess the sound would be somewhat muted.

It sounds like you reload single stage from your description. I reload from a single and measure every round. The cartridges are in rows of five and it would be easy to skip over a row as you move the powder from the scale to the case. I also check powder levels in all of the cases with a flashlight. I have not missed yet but it is something I have worried about. I will be even more diligent in the future after reading of your mishap. Thanks for posting about it.
I don't crimp rifle rounds, never found the need to do so. Most bullets don't have the cannelure anyhow. And yes, still use a single-stage press. I'm still stumped on how I missed putting powder in five rounds. I do much what you do, put powder in however many rounds I'm loading, anywhere from 5-50, check each with a light for equal powder levels and then stuff the bullets. But it went wrong with this load, for sure. These loads are right up to the neck, so low/missing powder should have been blatantly obvious--should have been! "
