There also will be times when fighting is not the best option to guarantee your survival.

What martial art do you think is the best martial art for self defense?

Gman replied to the thread The rising tide of violent behavior towards Conservatives.
" I firmly believe in the force continuum, which is for whatever level force is directed at me, I respond with a higher level.

This clip is not exactly on topic, but it is relevant in the sense that it describes how I have operated in these situations my entire life.

" The way I look at it, is he may not be the best choice; but he is the best choice for these times. "

Gman replied to the thread Pocket Pistol.
" I have used a S&W BG for the last couple of years and have been pleased until recently; I had to send it back today for an issue that came up.

I did a video demonstrating the virtues of pocket carry recently that I will leave here.

Gman created the thread Mexican carried to church today.
" I usually carry a 380 in the pocket at church, but we always go out to dinner afterwards, so, I put the 1911 in my waistband, sans holster, and left it in the car during the service. ( Still has the 380 in my pocket)

Afterwards, when we arrived at the restaurant, it was easy to just stick it back in the waistband and go inside.

The 1911 is an ideal weapon when you want a floater to fill in the gaps, but you donít want the hassle of having to put on and take off a holster, because it has such a flat profile, and the redundant safety mechanisms guarantee that the trigger cannot be pulled or accidentally manipulated when carried in that manner, unlike a striker fired gun with no external safetys.

Itís for these reasons that the 1911 is my go to weapon around the house. If I need to go walk the dog, or bring in firewood, or, even answer the door, I can just slip the 1911 in my waistband and it rides securely and safely in position for most general, low exertion type activities.

Just something to think about. "

Gman created the thread Just gonna start right here:).
" Been gone a while, and have gone thru a lot of changes in my personal development.

Besides kicking the tobacco habit, I donít drink anymore ( sorry OV), and I am back in church. My life has taken on a completely different meaning and purpose over the last year, which began with an honest evaluation of myself and deciding I didnít like who I had become as a person. A lot of me, was shaped by my military and LE career which forced me to be somebody I really wasnít just to keep it together.

After retirement, the down time gave me a lot of time to think about things, and as I slowly allowed myself to decompress, I realized the real me had been suppressed and forgotten.

So, I am back, and would like to start off by saying if I have said or caused offense to anyone in the past, I am sorry.

I have taken all of my tobacco money and started taking violin lessons, lol, which I enjoy very much, and is one of the most difficult things I have ever done.

My goal here is to be a friend, and get to know people, and appreciate all for who they are.

So, thanks for the welcome back from those who have already extended the hand! Thanks! "
