" Confirmed idiot Joy Bahar advocates for gun confiscation without notice. This scenario would play out badly. Many homeowners shot and killed. Many in law enforcement killed.

By the numbers approximately 1.76 million officers in the US at the end of 2012. 42% of households own firearms according to Pew research. 127 million households in US and 53 million households with firearms.

Liberals and other progressives are openly talking confiscation now. Cats out of the bag.

We may only be governed by our consent. Many are fast approaching a time when NO will be stated loudly and violently.

Vote at the ballot box so that the violence may never arrive.

One woman proceeds to bring a box from her office to mine for storage. Said box full of newspaper wrapped items. From mouse trashed office to mine. No, not happening. Had to explain the concept of mouse nesting material to her.

Building manager brings in humane traps. Ha. Failure. He got upset when I told him Iíd bring in real traps. Iíd kill the mice. They would be dead within 48 hours.

I set traps early one morning. First mouse dead in 36 hours. City folks pick up remaining traps. Are you kidding me? No, they really did.

Set back more traps. Killed three over the weekend. Spoke to building manager who previously stated no mice on other floors. Weíre on the top floor by the way. Yeah fellow, and you all got a problem.

ctr created the thread Difference between a conservative and liberal candidate.
" What is the difference between a conservative and a liberal candidate? Let me share the following with you.

Sitting in the den with a warm stove going. The conservative candidate parked his vehicle on the street and walks up the driveway, walks the front walkway, steps onto the porch and rings the bell. He greets me, introduces himself, asks if he may have a few minutes of my time. Speaks about what he stands for. Asks if there are concerns I want addressed. The conservative candidate leaves my property in the same thoughtful manner. He is also respectful of my neighbors property and time in the same way.

The liberal candidate parks his truck on my front lawn. He walks across the yard. He rings the bell. He shoves a flyer in my hand. A piece of trash to be dealt with. He doesn’t ask. He takes. He walks back across the lawn. Moves his truck into my neighbors yard. Repeats the same thing.

Who will show more respect once in office? The Lord said he who is faithful in little things he will also be faithful in great things. I know who my undecided neighbors will vote for. The man who won’t take liberties, the man who respects the property of others. The man who asks permission. "

An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board, but only 4 parachutes.
The first passenger said, "I am President Obama and I am the chosen one. The world needs me, I can't afford to die." So he took the first parachute and jumped.
The second passenger, Julia Gillard, said, "I was the prime Minister of Australia and I am the smartest woman in Australian history, so Australia's people don't want me to perish." She took the second parachute and jumped out of the plane.
The third passenger, Hillary Clinton, said, "I was the U.S. Secretary of State, and I had to endure sniper fire in Bosnia, so that makes me a war hero. I'm too important to die!" So she grabbed the third parachute and jumped.
The fourth passenger, President Donald J. Trump, said to the 5th passenger, a 10 year old schoolboy, "I have lived a full life, and served my country the best that I could. I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."
The little boy replied, "That's okay, Mr. President. There's still one parachute left for you. Either 'the chosen one' or 'the war hero' took my backpack." "

ctr created the thread New, well old, carry gun.
" Best laid plans as they say. My plan to primarily go back to revolvers didnít work out too well. My hands wonít take the recoil anymore. While growing old is a privilege some aspects arenít nice.

Anyway, I wanted an up close and personal get off me gun. Enter the LCP. I owned one years ago. This one is new, made in NC. It is a bit rough in cycling. Some wear in odd places and lots of copper shavings post range trip. Not sure if itís the ammo batch or an out of spec chamber. Time will tell.

Only mods to the gun are blaze orange nail polish on the front sight post and a Hogue grip sleeve. Purchased extra magazines including a 7 rounder. That one didnít work out too well. Iím probably putting too much pressure on the bottom which resulted in a couple of misfeeds. One factory 6 round mag was bad from the get go.

This pistol is slower to break in than my old LCP. But I like the results.

First shots. Target on right at 6 feet. Left target at 15 feet.

ctr created the thread Almost mugged, maybe.
" Another pre-dawn commute this morning. I have a mile walk thru an area that isnít ideal. Situational awareness is important. Canít carry a firearm due to employer restrictions.

This morning was an ordinary day. Most people out this time in the morning are either headed to work, third shift folks leaving early, or the exercise crowd. This guy was none of the above. I spotted him on the other side of the street. Long baggie shorts and a sleeveless shirt. Demeanor and gait belonged to the type of guy who likes to fight. He wasnít right for the time, place, or things folks normally do at that early hour.

The guy overtakes me on the other side of the street passing behind a bus. My view is momentarily blocked by a delivery truck on my side of the street. The guy changed direction, doubling back diagonally crossing the street, matching my pace, his eyes locked on me. Coming straight for me arms still at his side. Instantly I knew this was planned and not random.

I moved off the line as he closed to 6 feet and I began walking sideways. He started to follow calling out ďhey man, help a brother out.Ē ďI got nothing for youĒ was my response. My pace didnít change but my direction did. Now in the street and changing direction on him. He turned completely around and cursed me. But he stopped moving fortunately. His plan now failing and he had a chance to size me up close. Didnít like my confident demeanor, stocky build, close cropped haircut, and eye gaze.

There have been two other robberies in as many weeks in the general area. Confident he planned to rob me and changed his mind. Awareness helped tremendously. Having the knowledge I canít fight well but would fight to finish projected confidence. I wasnít worth the effort and trouble in short. "

ctr created the thread Weekend project.
" Like many folks the Ctr family has reached a stage in life when it’s time to downsize. We are moving into a smaller Villa style home early next year. I’m looking forward to it as well.

Some preparation is necessary to be successful in this type of endeavor. While we’ve done a good job avoiding to much accumulation of stuff there are still some items floating about. Our guest bed frame, mattress, et al are going to a wonderful woman in need from a local church.

Tools, now that is the tough one. Over 40 years of tools. Started putting tools in a GI mechanic bag a couple years ago. You know pull something out for a home repair then into the bag rather than the tool chest. There are two of these bags - the other is for electrical work.

Below is my weekend project putting up pegboard and getting stuff organized. These are the tools I’m keeping. There are a few others not shown. The framing hammer and the speed square were used to build 4 houses for Habitat. Those two tools have done a lot more than that too. Mostly USA made Craftsman from decades ago. The two hand drills are German and a dream to use. The carpenters rule was maybe my first tool acquired around age 9 or 10.

Attachment 25232

The pegboard is a trial run for the new place. Probably my last home with tools in it. I’m not sad at all. Lots of memories. Things my grandfather taught me. Lessons learned the hard way. Wouldn’t trade the memories for anything. Besides, I’ll probably take up traditional woodworking with hand tools after the move. We’ll see.

Going to auction are 2 large Craftsman tool chest full of tools. Stuff I no longer need or can use. A friend has also expressed interest. "

" Been pondering lately, with so many firearms to choose from, what does equate to a well armed man? Not talking about combat mind you, but that unexpected encounter with scumbag(s) bent on punching a fella's ticket.

A traditionalist at heart I'd say a brace of revolvers is still one of the best choices. Worked in the old west with SA. Worked for Jim Cirillo on several occasions. Bill Jordan used a single revolver and survived several gunfights.

In this era of wonder nines, spray and pray, and high miss rates, a fella could do worse than a brace of DA revolvers. Nothing against the bottom feeders and those that love them, but many would do well with the revolver and a New York reload. "

ctr created the thread A fine day for a range trip.
" A wonderful day for a range trip. A S&W 60 3 inch and a new PPK/s were good company. Well, one was.

I'm an old time revolver shooter. Double action technique is good enough. A sample of the shooting with Federal HydraShok 38. Also had Winchester white box.

Attachment 24167

Put new Pachmayr grips on which make all the difference.

Now the PPK/s wasn't as fun. The frame edges are too sharp on the PPK. She bit me good drawing blood. I'm not talking about slide bite but the grip frame itself.

The new release front sight is too small. My eyes can't pick it up. Far different than the previous manufacturer offerings. I suspect a youngster would have trouble too. Best I could manage without seeing the front sight. Used the slide top for sight alignment. She will be on consignment within the week.

Hello, I was a loyal Rem Oil user for decades, since the early 1980's. Great product that one could trust to protect their firearms, knives, and other tools.

The formula changed though, didn't it? So too the packaging changed. The new formulation just isn't as good. The new packaging is awful. Leaks and makes an unpleasant and wasteful mess.

I'll be sure to share my thoughts on the firearms forums too. Boy, did you folks sure screw up.

" Took my 1911 Colt to the range today. It's the last trip the two of us will make together. Dirty Harry said it best, "A man's got to know his limitations." Age isn't kind and I no longer shoot the 45 fast, or well. Don't enjoy the recoil anymore either. It's time to put her out on consignment tomorrow.

I'll shoot 9 mm and 38 revolver pretty much from here on out. Had a good run but it's up. Not sad, just moving forward and adapting to life's changes. "

ctr created the thread Simple driving rule proves too difficult for many.
" Drive a vehicle in the left lane of the interstate and notice no vehicles in front but 3 or more behind you? MOVE OVER!

Alas, this simple rule is demonstrably shown on a daily basis as too difficult for most drivers.

If driving is an art, most vehicle operators are finger painters. "

ctr created the thread Sit P238 range trip.
" Second range trip with my new Sig P238. This pistol has night sights, a 6 or 7 round capacity depending on magazine choice. I don't load +1.

Not as accurate as some 380 pistols I've owned but this has proven to be an ultra reliable pistol. Has a great feel to the weight and balance. Best of my runs, 21 shots at 7 yards. I can't group as well with this pistol mainly due to the night sights. But it is good enough for defensive purposes.

Attachment 23111

Something else unique about this pistol. It is one of two 380's owned over 30+ years that can go 400 plus rounds without failure. That is a dirty pistol but functioned brilliantly until the take down pin came out of the frame above 400 rounds. The pistol slide began to slam closed on magazine removal, no doubt due to the buildup of fowling. Still not sure how the takedown pin worked it's way out. Regardless, ultra reliable.

This is now my primary carry gun. Cocked and locked. "

ctr created the thread Old dog new trick.
" Went to the range with a brand new Ruger Mark IV 22/45 this morning. Avoided this gun in the past due to the complex reassembling process. The Mark IV is as easy as a push button. Only thing I don't care for is the magazine safety.

Now for the new trick. Added a Trijicon RMR Dual Illumination reflex sight. One with a green triangle. This is new to me but I like it. The old eyes aren't what they used to be and the focal plane of the RMR is one dimension, very easy to use. I still need some practice getting used to it. A couple of targets from 7 yards.

ctr created the thread Lessons from the Great War - Britain.
" I'm fascinated by the resilience of English during the Great War. It's an interesting period in history and there is much to learn by studying how people got on in daily life. I fear we might need the knowledge one day soon.

Rabbits were raised for food. They were provided kitchen scraps and material from victory gardens. I seem to recall 38 days or something similar as the cycle between birth and ready to eat. Rabbits were raised in hutches.

Neighbors joined together in pig clubs at the onset of the war. They provided kitchen scraps and all received a share of the pig at slaughter time.

These are a few of many lessons from the period. Fascinating. "

ctr created the thread Liberals really are deranged.
" Overheard a conversation on the bus today. Figured out the topic of discussion after a few minutes. Comments like below.

He is destroying this country

It's really bad

He is a liar.

They'll get him before the end of the summer.

Can you imagine what he must have on them or their children for no one to stop him.

I really wish we would have a revolution. Not that I like violence but we have to stop this. This can't go on. Something has to be done.

I'm not kidding. These are snippets from 10 minutes of conversation between two liberals. They really are deranged. "

" Two factions of immigrants bring unrest and potential violence to D.C. Read about it here...

No need to worry about third world countries. Politicians have allowed America to import immigrants who refuse to assimilate instead bringing unrest and violence to our communities.

Time for a flush. "
