Saw a half naked fox run threw the yard today. Fur on top and tail, but mostly bare elsewhere. Looked like the poor creature may have had mange. Now that's not something you see everyday. "

" While checking on consignments at the LGS this beauty caught my eye. A new old friend, the Walter PPK/s. I couldn't help myself. The PPK/s is the best fitting pistol I ever owned. This one is a special First Edition with wood grips.

The internals are similar but some areas have been beefed up and a few engineering changes from what memory tells me about parts. Still the basic blowback design. Plan to get her to the range in the next week or so.

Society is breaking down. The common fabric that held Americans together was always values. Sure, there were fringes on either end but the vast majority shared the same goals and ideals. That most definitely is not true today. Look to the history of the Roman Empire and most will see where America is headed. "

Of course, the absolute statement of the BOR's prohibitions is like that, too. Just not considered with the same moral certitude. As you say, with an inherent moral deficiency, it can get dicey.

We're on an ugly path, these days, as a culture. It's gonna end badly, unless something changes.
I agree completely. There are but three foreseeable outcomes. Americans pull back from the brink and start working together to restore the rule of law, fundamental American values, and upright moral behavior. Americans fight a civil war where one ideology completely destroys the other. A foreign nation cleans our clock.

All but one end in ruin. "

ctr created the thread Sit P238 range trip.
" Second range trip with my new Sig P238. This pistol has night sights, a 6 or 7 round capacity depending on magazine choice. I don't load +1.

Not as accurate as some 380 pistols I've owned but this has proven to be an ultra reliable pistol. Has a great feel to the weight and balance. Best of my runs, 21 shots at 7 yards. I can't group as well with this pistol mainly due to the night sights. But it is good enough for defensive purposes.

Attachment 23111

Something else unique about this pistol. It is one of two 380's owned over 30+ years that can go 400 plus rounds without failure. That is a dirty pistol but functioned brilliantly until the take down pin came out of the frame above 400 rounds. The pistol slide began to slam closed on magazine removal, no doubt due to the buildup of fowling. Still not sure how the takedown pin worked it's way out. Regardless, ultra reliable.

This is now my primary carry gun. Cocked and locked. "

Now for the new trick. Added a Trijicon RMR Dual Illumination reflex sight. One with a green triangle. This is new to me but I like it. The old eyes aren't what they used to be and the focal plane of the RMR is one dimension, very easy to use. I still need some practice getting used to it. A couple of targets from 7 yards.

" I'm fascinated by the resilience of English during the Great War. It's an interesting period in history and there is much to learn by studying how people got on in daily life. I fear we might need the knowledge one day soon.

Rabbits were raised for food. They were provided kitchen scraps and material from victory gardens. I seem to recall 38 days or something similar as the cycle between birth and ready to eat. Rabbits were raised in hutches.

Neighbors joined together in pig clubs at the onset of the war. They provided kitchen scraps and all received a share of the pig at slaughter time.

These are a few of many lessons from the period. Fascinating. "

" I visit the grocery store two to three times per week unlike most folks. Always have staples in the larder and the ingredients to make the meals we eat regularly. Very little food waste this way.

Walking back to the car at the end of the lot I see two ducks turn in for a landing. One breaks off on final but the other lands at the edge of the parking lot. Duck just stands there for about 5 minutes. Odd since no bodies of water nearby.

Now I've seen ducks everywhere and I do mean everywhere. High mountain streams while hunting. Shooting rapids for fun - ducks do play. But not this.

What happened next left me puzzled for a bit. The duck crawls head first into a bush on the edge of the parking lot. Completely vanished. Took me a few minutes to work it out. Nest site. In a bush. In a parking lot.

You really do learn something new everyday. "

ctr created the thread AOC shows ignorance yet again.
" AOC tweeted in response to a Wall Street Journal article she didn't care for. Read the response below.

I guess WSJ Editorial Page takes pride in their ignorance of our nation’s history of slavery, Jim Crow, & mass incarceration; willful doubt on the decades of science on climate change; targeting of indigenous peoples, and the classist, punitive agenda targeting working families.

Slavery and the Jim Crow laws are one small portion of our history. Mass incarceration is nonsensical rambling AOC. Ah, the "science" of climate change. The world has been around for 6,000 or millions of years depending on Christian or evolutionary theory. Meteorologists have about a century of accurate recorded data give or take a decade or two. We call that a statistically small sample dear AOC.

Every country in the world targeted indigenous people. Go back far enough and the indigenous people actually aren't. Human nature is one of violence, conquest, and destruction. America in the history of the world has done more good than any other civilization on record. The world is a better place for having the great lady.

Ah, the communist argument on classes. Let's see, Demoncrats created the welfare system that has imprisoned the poor for generations. Demoncrats created the legislation that drove manufacturing offshore, eliminating millions of jobs, and leading to higher imports than exports. Demoncrats voted for every tax increase and never met a social program they didn't like. Finally, there is the Obama effect that set race relations back decades in this country.

So yes, dear AOC you are ignorant. Keep at it and we'll know it goes beyond that. Are you stupid? Time will tell us all the answer but we already suspect it to be so. "

ctr created the thread Morons and ignorant idiots.
" Politicians in 11 states have voted to follow the popular vote. I'm not speechless but I'll call them morons and the people who voted for them are idiots.

The electoral college was designed to serve two purposes. The first is to make states equal in voting at the national level. More populous states such as the northeastern block can't elect a president on their own. All states have equal voice in the electoral process. Providing an override for seriously deficient candidates is the second purpose served by the electoral college.

These morons and idiots have voluntarily given up their equality, their representation in the electoral process. I'm not surprised America has come to this. There are now several generations of completely useless individuals in America. AOC is just one facet. The great lady liberty is going down folks unless a civil war alters the current course of the country. "

ctr created the thread AOC incurable stupidity.
" AOC has justifiable taken heat for the Amazon debacle. She remains the ever defiant child though.

“Frankly, the knee-jerk reaction assuming that I ‘don’t understand’ how tax giveaways to corps work is disappointing,” she tweeted. “No, it’s not possible that I could come to a different conclusion. The debate *must* be over my intelligence & understanding, instead of the merits of the deal.”

Cited in a recent Fox News article, this quote below pretty much shines the light on the empty cranium.

“If we were willing to give away $3 billion for this deal, we could invest those $3 billion in our district ourselves, if we wanted to. We could hire out more teachers. We can fix our subways. We can put a lot of people to work for that money, if we wanted to,” Ocasio-Cortez said last week.

Let a simple man break it down for you AOC. Government doesn't generate revenue. Government is expense side only. Thus you have nothing to invest. Hiring teachers, subway repairs, paying people, those are expense side activities. Where is the revenue replacement that you lost with Amazon?

Now I don't have the fancy economics degrees, nor do most Americans. But I do understand the difference between getting paid and paying out money. So yes dear AOC, the debate is over your intelligence and understanding. Everyone has a clear picture of your level of intelligence, ignorance, and frankly stupidity.
