Lionround created the thread Jet A vs. Kerosene vs. Charcoal Lighter Fluid.
" I am curious. Charcoal Lighter Fluid goes for about $6.00 per bottle or the equivalent of about $24 per gallon.

Kerosene goes for $5.99 gallon at the closest gas station in my area that carries it.

Jet A goes for $3.43 gallon self service at a little airport that I drive by on my way to/from work every day.

My question is: Can I use Jet A instead of Charcoal Lighter for lighting my BBQ, trash fires, etc.

Can I use Jet A in a kerosene heater? "

Lionround created the thread Anybody else eating a low-carb diet?.
" I am type 2 diabetic and have to severely limit my carb intake. I dearly love beans - limas, pintos, great northerns. Anyway, I found these black soybeans on Amazon and ordered a case of 12. They are wonderful.

I made ham and bean soup today with onions, garlic, tomatoes and carrots. Spiced it all up with cumin and cayenne. It is fantastic and almost zero carbs.

Lionround created the thread Three Men on a Cruise.
" There were three men on a cruise, a man from Ireland, a man from Cuba, and a man from Texas.

On the first night the Texas man goes out on deck and he sees the Irish man. The Irish man gets out a bottle of Irish whiskey, takes one sip and tosses it overboard. The Texas man asks him why he threw the bottle overboard after only taking one sip and the Irish man explains that where he's from there is so much of it, there is too much so he is doing a good thing getting rid of some of it.

On the second night the Texas man goes out on deck and sees the Cuban man. The Cuban man gets out a Cuban cigar, lights it, takes one puff and then tosses it overboard. The Texas man asks him why he threw the cigar overboard after taking only one puff and the Cuban man explains that where he's from they've got so many of those, they've got too many so he is doing a good thing getting rid of one of them.

On the third night the Texas man goes out on deck and throws an illegal immigrant overboard.

Lionround created the thread List your favorite local FFL.
" If you were to buy a gun online or have to have one transferred elsewhere, who would you use? Let's list local, independent FFLs who do incoming and outgoing transfers at a decent price and give good service.

Not Bass Pro or the like, just the local folks.

I ordered a gun online this week for the first time and am having it shipped to a guy not far from me. He doesn't advertise or anything. I found him by word of mouth. If all works out well, I will list him as my go-to guy. "

Lionround created the thread Former Memphis Police Officer Sentenced to 96 Months in Federal Prison.

From the article:

In early 2018, the FBI and MPD began a joint investigation of officers Kevin Coleman and Terrion Bryson. In April of 2018, Coleman and Bryson agreed to escort approximately 2.5 kilograms of heroin to a storage facility in Memphis. Coleman was on duty, in his MPD squad car, at the time of the escort. Bryson, not on duty at the time, but armed with a handgun, accompanied the driver, an undercover MPD officer, in the car with the heroin. Both Coleman and Bryson were arrested shortly thereafter.
I have caught flak from some of the people on this forum for what I do for a living, but I am proud of the work that our office puts out. "

This is a documentary about a group of American flyers who were in Laos. As anyone who knows any of the history of the Vietnam war, we didn't have any troops in Laos, so they had to get rid of their identity and work for the CIA.

From the article:

Lionround created the thread Made a pot of my world famous chili tonight.
" I have been making chili for close to 55 years now and I think I have the recipe down. My wife and grandson love it and that's good enough for me.

I don't use any tomato sauce and they don't know it. I use low sodium V8 juice instead. That way they are getting their vegetables and don't realize it.

1 bottle V8 low sodium
1 large bottle Pace medium chunky salsa
1 can diced tomatoes
3 lbs lean hamburger meat
1 lb Jimmy Dean hot sausage
8-10 cloves fresh garlic, sautéed in the grease from the sausage
1 large onion, diced and sautéed in the same

Chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne and salt and black pepper to taste.

And I might as well answer the critics now. No, I don't put beans in chili. That's bean soup where I come from. "

" World tension mounts when satellite imagery reveals that North Korea has positioned an 18-story-tall plastic bottle containing an estimated 40 million liters of Diet Coke on the border with South Korea, and has somehow obtained what one military analyst describes as “Mentos mints the size of barns.”

North Korea insists that the project is “strictly defensive,” but the United Nations Security Council, responding with its toughest sanctions yet against the rogue nation, votes to unfriend Kim Jong Un on Facebook.
