Smoking hot deal on Ken Onion Work Sharp at Amazon

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    $39.9w/free shipping!

Time to upgrade or dive in! This sharpener may be the best bang for the buck out there. If you don't like to use stones and don't want to spend hundreds on on a belt grinder of Wicked Edge, this is the way to go.

All the orders for this were canceled due a "Pricing error".

Oh well, it did look too good to be true and you know what they say...

I recently purchased one and really like it. Some knives I have would never take or hold an edge until I used this sharpener.

I'm an arkansas whetstone guy (not because I'm good at it, because I'm stubborn) but I would have jumped on this if it had been legit.

I've thought about getting one of these just to sharpen mower blades and for the times I want to re-profile a blade or just to play around.

A bench mounted belt sander makes short work out of sharpening a mower blade. Faster than a bench grinder IMO. I have no experience with the Ken Onion, but, a friend has one that he really likes. I may have to give it a try.

I've got the standard WorkSharp unit. While it can't compare in the sharpness possible with a good traditional whetstone setup, it's much faster and can produce workable sharp blades fairly simply. Am glad I have the unit. Particularly since I've never been too reliable at getting repeatable sharpness with good stones. Never have figured out how to keep the blade angle identical from pass to pass, across a multi-hundred-pass sharpening session for a knife. IMO, a setup like the WorkSharp that has constant blade angles built-in to the tool is not a bad way to go, for someone who's got blade angle technique issues.

Dang I always miss the good deals. Seems Amazon has had a rash of these " pricing error " incidents of late. Makes me wonder if this is an advertising scam to get people interested in the items. Last one I saw was for a portable a/c. Price listed was $39.95 and other listings were all around $300 for the exact same item. I got the same message as luvmy40. If it seems too good to be true------.

I've had one for a while and seem to be too stupid to make it sharpen a knife.

I have had one for a few years. I also bought the add-on blade grinding attachment and use that for sharpening almost exclusively. Works great. Knives are very sharp and touch-ups are easy with the stropping belt belt kit. Stropping provides that final super sharpness and once all your knives are sharpened, you can mostly just leave the stropping belt on there and touch up each knife as needed.
