My woodswalking gun is the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .44 mag.

I do occasionally carry the Smith & Wesson 686 in .357 mag.

For the woods here, usually a Ruger 4" GP 100 or a Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44 magnum.

Don't do a ton of "wood walking " but do quite a bit of wood cutting lol.

Usually alone in fairly isolated places.
Carry the same pistol. Sr9c only load it with NATO hardball, open carried in a Serpa.
That's backed up by the SKS , four stripper clips loaded with Russian hollow points in the truck.

If I could find a used one I would at least consider it as Ruger no longer offers a 45 Colt Redhawk that I could find on their website. Still, the Blackhawk is 1/2 a pound lighter and truth be told I miss owning a single action.
    They still make one
