    CCI Segmented .22 LR

Anybody had any experience with these? My gun shop guy sold me a couple of boxes the other day when I asked him, "If you absolutely had to use a .22 as an SD pistol, is there anything better than just plain old LR hollow points?" My question would be do they penetrate enough to do the job when they break up?

Don't know about the ammo you are asking about but the 22 LR hollow points do okay on armadillos and they have quite the armor.

The amount of travel of the pieces may mean more damage but not sure that helps or hinders. It could actually hinder. If you nail COM you have a chance at severing the Aorta, but if these separate and travel that far away from each other it could narrowly miss a major part that would end a threat.

CCI says it may not cycle semiautos but is quiet. Probably not what you'd want for SD. I'll stick with MiniMags.
