This doesn't surprise me. The "Rich" have been put on the list along with all the other enemies of the State the left have been crying about. The left is kicking into full witch hunt mode. There is an election looming on the horizon and the "rich" play an important part in paying for a lot of promises. The rich have always gotten their kids into a good college if they needed backdoor help. It's either that or Burger. U.

I've been wondering when the useful idiots would start being useful as cannon fodder. Well, not yet, but it's getting close.

The saga continues, but in a new way.

He bought the fencing coach's house and his son gets admitted to Harvard. Up until now, Harvard had stayed out of the fray, but this is a new twist.

Their name alone is worth more than any accreditation

    For the time being, perhaps.

But if accreditation goes (which sure isn't likely), some institutions will risk not having the cachet they once did. A good thing, I'd say. If found to be due to an almost criminally-negligent lack of oversight, strip accreditation, create an extreme regimen of oversight, and in time (10+ years?) consider reapplication for accreditation. Do that, and I'm sure we'd have more than a few "higher" education institutions clean up their acts.

Our children was sold a defective bill of goods when it came to obtaining a college degree.I paid for most of their education and finally paid off the last school loan
I took out.I live in Maine and businesses are crying for Electricians,Plumbers, Carpenters and Mechanics. The construction companies are turning work down because
they can't hire enough workers.Construction companies are paying flaggers a starting wage of sixteen dollars an hour.A two year degree in one of the trades gives you
more bang for the buck than a college degree. My son had to move out of state to find work that he went to school for. Most of todays kids don't want to get their hands dirty.

I worked at two colleges the last 20 years of my working life.Money greases the skids and makes large problems disappear.Saw this many times and it sent wrong message to the kids
who always bought their way out of trouble.
