    Old time hunting.
Punt guns were usually custom-designed and varied widely, but could have bore diameters exceeding 2 inches (51 mm) and fire over a pound of shot at a time.

not particularly, for small game, a 22 will do; if in survival situation traps are more efficient, lighter, stealthier; rifle/pistol are lighter and better range; 5.56 is better for home defense. Still have a 12 ga with long and short barrels tho'.

Punt guns has been known to shoot and kill 50 ducks on the water in one shot. Shoot once and clean ducks the rest of the day. They were market hunters guns.

Understood - title of post is "do you like shotguns"; not "do you like puntguns". Just answering the question that was asked.

I love shotguns. Most recently bought a Weatherby 12 ga. semi-auto. I didn't even know Weatherby made shotguns.
