    Finally!

Twelve years after being told I needed knee replacement, it is finally on the calendar for December. Both knees, three days apart. I want it over and done with. Kind of sucks to be during that time frame, was hoping for early Nov., but it is what it is.

All the docs I saw said not until I lost weight. Now I've done that, so it's full speed ahead. I know it will be a tough recovery, but hopefully mobility will be restored enough to increase my level of physical activity. Let the games begin.

Hope everything turns out well, I'm surprised both surgeries are so close together.

Good luck! I've never heard of both that close together, but you are tough, right? And since the therapy is painful, with much stationary bike riding involved, might as well have the pain in both limbs at the same time............one way to look at it. And, since you have lost weight, recovery should be a lot faster. (Granny says......)

    Good luck!

Do your physical therapy afterwards and don't piss off the nurses.

I had arthroscopic & an "arthritis scrape" on my left knee 15 years ago (smashed it in a car accident in 1999 and have a "bald spot" in the meniscus). It's been acting up again at night lately. Hurts when I don't have weight on the leg(?)

I figure a metal one is in my future. Probably hip as well. Sucks to get old, but it might suck not to as well.

    Two new bionics? Nice.

Twice the fun, in rehab and subsequent gym training. It'll do you good.

A couple of months, the PT, firing up the gym strengthening and stretching ... then you'll be good as new. Better than new.

    Good luck with the procedure.

At least we won't have to listen to (read) your dribble during the holidays.

Good luck with the surgery and recovery.

I had a full hip replacement last august and it was pain free. I walked 3 1/2 miles the day before my 2 week checkup.

Knees are a whole other thing though. Guy beside me at rehab was working his knee and it looked very painful it think the screaming and crying he was doing made it look worse than it was though. My hip was done in Gainesville, Florida at the orthapedic institute and I have nothing but great things to say about them.

I wish you a painless and speedy recovery OV.

I've had arthro on both and they ended up bone on bone for the past few years.

Custom bionics. Supposed to straighten out the bowed legs and add up to an inch in height. I'm thinking NBA as a second career.
