Florida Man killed by Florida Man

Miami Man In Van Guns Down AK-47 Wielding Robber Because He Didn’t Want ‘To Go Out Like A Punk’

See interview with the man in the link:

    https://miami.cbslocal.com/2019/11/2...elding-robber/

The ice cream truck music in the background adds something special to the his story.

“I am from Kingstontown in Jamaica,” he said, “and I am not going to go out like a punk. So I emptied my Glock in his chest. This man tried to get in my van while I was sleeping and he was surprised to see what I did.”

    ...

“So I thought you are you going to kill me so now I have to act quickly because I am trained,” he said. “You know I have a security license, I have a G license and I have a state firearms license and a concealed weapons permit and I have a gun and I am a member of the NRA.”

    Hey....a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
I am sure I would do it under same circumstances.

    If as reported ...

It's why we go armed. Nicely done.

In this case, it sounds like the guy and his family were sleeping in the car. Which makes it their domicile, at least for the night. Which effectively makes it a home invasion. Assuming FLA's statutes are appropriate, covering a person's right to defend against dire and deadly threats even if "only" in forcible entry of a car.

I think the statute is in his favor whether the van is considered domicile for the night or not.
My understanding of SYG is if you have a legal right to be where you are you have the right to defend yourself.

I'm pretty sure regardless of statute when someone sticks a rifle in your face your justified in shooting that person. Assuming you can get your gun into play.

Should be an open and shut justified shooting.
Odd how most folks who say they support the Constitution as written ,,,,,,,,,,,,really don't.

    Yep.

"A person is justified in using or threatening to use deadly force if he or she reasonably believes that using or threatening to use such force is necessary to prevent imminent death or great bodily harm to himself or herself or another or to prevent the imminent commission of a forcible felony. A person who uses or threatens to use deadly force in accordance with this subsection does not have a duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground if the person using or threatening to use the deadly force is not engaged in a criminal activity and is in a place where he or she has a right to be."
