I am pretty disgusted with our space effort (or lack of) these days.
I think if the President wants to "Make America Great Again", NASA (in the USA) should be a priority. It IS what made America great in the earlier days. I think they are working on it. I can't wait until we get out of Russia.

The science, technology and business results from our space effort are incalculable. It made us leaders in the world in many different scientific and technological areas.

And then, I read that NASA has a plan to save us from Yellowstone. I read the whole article and found nothing that justified why or how "Aeronautics and Space" had anything to do with supervolcanos other than perhaps they wanted a big project to justify more funding.

Back in the 1960's, it did have to be a national effort to get men on the moon. If that ever really happened

Today, I am not so much for funding for NASA and would prefer that the commercial market pick up on the research and production of spacecraft.

A whole lot of things have come out of the space program that were developed from the research from space travel.
Things that have impacted the lives of everyone in this country, hell, the world for that matter.
If humanity is to ultimately survive we must not be chained to this planet alone, ask the dinosaurs, oh wait they're dead.
I like the idea of private enterprise doing it but I don't know that at the present level that is a viable option.
Private enterprise need to make profits or they are not in business for long. Perhaps government subsidies like the worthless windmill crap. I rather my tax dollars spent on space exploration than pissed away on windmills and social programs that never end.
A little national pride never hurts either.

Can this story be considered Nasa in some way ? A exciting story that seems to have been overlooked in the mainstream.

It was posted in post #177. And it was covered by CNN and Fox and other channels. In fact, you posted a Fox article and Fox is considered MSM by many folks.

Thanks some how I missed it. Thought I was seeing headline news. Guess not. But what a story. Men being men.
