The "non-replaceable" cutter on my vintage Herter's case trimmer has finally worn down. Instead of trimming brass, it wears it off. I had it sharpened once, but it was only marginally better.

So I ordered a Hornady case trimmer and necessary shell holders today. Didn't really want to spend the money, but the old Herter's is toast.

I ordered one 14 round CZ-75 C mag for my Tristar C-100. The OEM mags are 15 rounds but the buttplates on the mags are thick and poke out a little- hoping the 14 rounders fit flush.

Traded my Glock 34 Gen 3 for a used Walther PPQ M2 4 inch ... sort of. After making the deal it was discovered that my AZ driver’s license had expired a few days ago on my birthday. So the Pawn Shop gave me the credit for my Glock and the PPQ became a “layaway”. I really really felt stupid. How did I let my DL expire? And why does it take the state of AZ 2 weeks to process and mail a Drivers license.?

I've wanted one of these for years, for no particular reason. I just think it's a really cool old gun. I believe I found a nice one!
Now the hunt is on for some ammo that won't break the bank!

That must really suck... All I got was bullets and a case trimmer pilot.

I just picked up a Walther PPQ SC and have extra magazines on order. I'm also trying to decide which night sights to put on it as it will replace my M&P40c as my EDC.

I took possession of the M1907 this evening! I don't have any new pics (yet), as I didn't have much time, and I kinda doubt I could improve on the seller's pics, anyway!
It really is a cool rifle, and it's condition is just as good as it looks in the pics. I'm a happy camper!

Dry-fired it a few times, and as expected, it has a pretty heavy trigger - not outrageous, though. It's also a very heavy rifle for the caliber, but that will help soak up recoil which might otherwise be pretty heavy, given the design. It's essentially sort of a delayed-blowback action. Does not have a locking bolt, and with a cartridge that's ballistically approaching a .30-30, it would be pretty stout in a lightweight rifle!

My FFL buddy and I both had a few minutes of head-scratching. There's no obvious charging handle on the side, and neither of us being familiar with the rifle, we puzzled over how the heck you're supposed to cock it & chamber a round! We had just about decided that my rifle was missing the charging handle when it occurred to me that the rounded piece on the end of the rod under the barrel really looked like it was designed to be pulled by a finger! 'Eureka', and 'Duh' at the same time! It's got a very nice, smooth action that indicates some very good craftmanship & machining!

I'm really excited to get my hands on this ol' "grail gun" (for me, anyway), and can't wait to get ahold of a magazine and some ammo. It seems that I may have that base covered, thanks to one of our most esteemed and valued forum members! Out of respect for his privacy, I won't mention his name, but his initials are Bryan McGilvray!

    Range report to follow ASAP!!!

    It's a 1976-vintage S&W Model 38, NIB!

Funny, I didn't use to care for humpback snubbies at all, but over the last few years, I somehow turned around & started wanting one. Came across this one at a decent price and pulled the trigger. It's absolutely flawless.

Went over to the Orange, Texas gun show this morning. No new guns, but I did pick up several goodies!

Got two "Universal" holsters from "The Holster King" at a great price. One leather, one nylon. Looking forward to trying them out with various pistols & revolvers:

Early last year, I got a Kel-Tec SUB2000, and it's a super fun little carbine, but getting a good sight picture with it is tough. So is mounting any kind of optic without interfering with the folding design of the gun. I'd been thinking a low-profile laser was probably the way to go. This morning I found an Osprey Global laser that seems to be just the ticket:

Mounted at the front of the lower rail, it's barely noticeable, and doesn't get in the way at all. I think it's going to be fun!

Finally, I found a box of new production (2018) .38 ACP ammo from Precision Cartridge, for my Colt 1903 Pocket Hammer:

Finding .38 ACP at all is tough. Most of what I do find is either antique (like 80-100 years old) that I don't really want to shoot up (and REALLY expensive), OR it's recent production that's loaded in .38 Super cases. That kinda rubs me the wrong way! This ammo from Precision is loaded in new brass from Graf, with the proper headstamp! So, a great find!

All in all, a great morning at the gun show, without blowing a whole lotta money!
